Camberwell Primary School is an English French Bilingual Primary School situated close to the major business and retail area of Camberwell Junction. Camberwell Primary has a history that dates from 1867. While only a small part of the building is original, recent playground improvements and the refurbishment of the former Bowling Clubrooms have made a major impact on the attractiveness of the school's facilities.

Camberwell Primary School is committed to providing an outstanding education in all Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) strands. This is seen as essential to retain the confidence and permission of parents which enables us to teach significant areas of the curriculum in French.

In mid 1997the school was admitted to the Bilingual Programs Project, which provides additional funding. The Bilingual Program is one of the ways in which the school enriches the educational experience of its students. Specialist programs operate in Music, Visual Arts, Science and Physical Education.
